eBook - Teaching Adjectives
I had a lot of fun creating this lesson on my personal favourite part of speech - adjectives! I used SlideRocket which is a wonderful free resource for doing fancy slideshow presentations. http://portal.sliderocket.com/AXQLY/eBook

Language Arts - CONNECTING the Dots
Double Entry Journals are a great way to take notes while you listen to your fellow classmates deliver their autobiographies tomorrow in class. Remember that good listeners are looking to make connections.
FOR PARENTS - CONNECT to the curriculum:
Active Listening Strategies demonstrate an understanding of appropriate listening behaviour by using active listening strategies in order to contribute meaningfully and work constructively in groups (e.g., demon- strate an understanding of when to speak, when to listen, and how much to say; make connections between personal experiences and the contributions of other group members; ask relevant questions to clarify information and ideas)

Mad For Math!
You all remember our art project last week where we traced a shape and translated it across the page? That had a big funny name called tessellation.
A cool website to apply this concept to Math is CoolMath4Kids.
This information will be covered next week when we start our unit on Geometric Relationships. Visit Coolmath4Kids to get a head start!
FOR PARENTS:
According to our curriculum expectations by the end of the unit we should be able to compose and describe pictures, designs, and patterns by combining two-dimensional shapes (e.g.,“I made a picture of a flower from one hexagon and six equilateral triangles.”).
Web 2.0 Cool Tools!
How many of you read the comics with a nice bowl of cereal? How cool would it be to create professional looking comics about your experiences as a grade 3? Well NOW YOU CAN using the coolest website called Bitstrips For Schools. This site allows you to create simple comics to graphic novel-style stories. Consider using this online resource for your culminating task in Language Arts! (HINT HINT HINT ;))
